Radio Recife plays Brazilian dance music, afro samba and MBP. The group consists of musicians from the Copenhagen jazz- and world music scene and appears often as a sextet with singer, guitar, a horn, bass, drums and percussion. The concerts creates a hot samba-atmosphere with Vanjá Santos’ explosive energi as a guiding force. The iniciative to start this group was taken by Lars Emil (guitar) in 2020 with a dream of creating powerful and open afro-samba-dance-concerts in Denmark and beyond. Since then the group has formed around Vanjá Santos (voc), David Besiakov (drums), Rune Fog-Nielsen (bass), Søren Høst (saxophone), Yohan Ramon (percussion) and Lars Emil (guitar).
